As of January 1st, the ATF has started allowing forms to be submitted without the $200 tax stamp. While this is exciting news, it has also caused a big surge in submissions nationwide, which has slowed eForms considerably. These delays can impact online orders, transfers, and appointment scheduling.

We’ve been working hard to get to all customers who took advantage of our “buy now, form later” option, as well as anyone who has had prior fingerprinting done with us. If you are a new or first-time NFA customer, or haven’t done in-person fingerprinting with us before, please note that it is required for all new purchases, layaway completions, and transfers.

Right now (January 5th, 12:30pm), fingerprinting appointments are booked out until January 20th, and availability is constantly changing as slots fill quickly. If you haven’t received updates yet, don’t worry! Our NFA manager is working around the clock (literally, late-night eForms submissions are running smoother right now) to get to every form as quickly as possible.

At this time, we do not have an estimated turnaround for form approvals. The ATF is still adjusting to the increased volume, and timelines remain uncertain. We will keep a close eye on everything and provide weekly updates as more information becomes available. We are aware of the situation regarding eForms/ATF not sending out approval emails and are checking pending 2025 submission as we can and updating as we get updates. The ATF, as of today, let us know we can no longer call in for submission updates.
